The dish looks interesting and appetizing and can be served to guests. There is no strict recipe; the ingredients can be changed to suit your taste.

Let's prepare the products according to the list.

The first step is to defrost the puff pastry. Peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes, add water and boil. Add salt.

Wash the chicken meat and chop it as finely as possible.

Peel the red onion and cut into quarters of rings. Red onions can be replaced with onions.

Fry the chicken meat in vegetable oil over high heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add onion, salt, cover and simmer over low heat until tender.

Crush the boiled potatoes with butter into a puree.

Divide the defrosted dough into plates; mine was wrapped like this. Roll out each plate a little with a rolling pin and divide into two rectangular parts as in the photo. Make cuts in each rectangle on opposite sides.

Place mashed potatoes in the middle of each rectangle.

Place the next layer of fried meat and onions.

Cut the pickled cucumber into thin half rings and place on top of the meat.

Close the boats on both sides. The cuts in the dough will be in the middle of the pie.

Preparation from puff pastry:

For the filling, cut the meat into small cubes and fry it in vegetable oil, add chopped onion and fry until cooked.

I washed the potatoes and cooked them in their skins in the microwave (set for 8 minutes at the highest power), cooled them, peeled them and cut them into small cubes.

Cut the pickled cucumbers into small cubes. Mix meat, potatoes and pickled cucumbers, add salt to taste and season.

Thaw the puff pastry dough and roll it out to about 2 mm thick. My dough consisted of 2 layers, I rolled out and cut each layer into 4 squares, making 8 pieces in total. On each square, make two vertical cuts (not reaching the end) along the edges.

Place the filling in the middle of each square. First, fold the dough over one edge, making sure that the vertical cut is in the center. Then close the other side of the dough, also placing the cut in the center. Form the corners of the boat.

Leave the products to proof for about 15-20 minutes. Then brush them with beaten egg and sprinkle grated cheese in the middle.

Bake in preheated to 180 degrees. oven for about 20-25 minutes.

    Another way to make dough boats

    Baking in the shape of a boat: pies and open khachapuri (those where an egg is then broken on top of the suluguni) are molded differently - the edges of the circle or oval, in the center of which the filling lies, are pinched at the edges. And no crossed dough rims.)))

    The boat pies are small and filling. When you finish the last bite, you don’t feel like you’ve eaten too much, you just have a pleasant feeling inside. Because there is not much dough and enough filling. The boats are very tasty, crunchy, with a juicy and plentiful mushroom or curd filling! I regret that I didn’t bake enough of these puff pastries; I should have made a second batch right away from a new package of dough.

We can say that this is a cooking idea for the lazy, because we will use a ready-made base for the boats. But despite all this simplicity, they simply have an incomparable taste: light, crispy, with a delicate meat filling inside and a cheese crust on top.

Boats with potatoes, meat and cucumbers

Puff pastry boats with potatoes, meat and cucumbers are a wonderful dish. It is a full dinner, including a meat dish, a side dish, an appetizer and even bread. The boats look very colorful, reminiscent of a large dumpling with a side dish peeking out of it. The taste is simply perfect - the classic combination of mashed potatoes with meat will not leave any gourmet indifferent. And pickled cucumbers will only emphasize the taste of the dish. When serving, I recommend sprinkling the boats with herbs. The specified amount of ingredients makes 4-8 servings.

Ingredients:

  • potatoes – 1 kg
  • pork – 400 g
  • onion – 1 pc. (large size)
  • barrel pickled cucumbers - 3-4 pcs. (small size)
  • puff pastry – 400 g egg
  • chicken – 1 pc.
  • hard cheese – 50 g

Cooking method:

  1. Peel the potatoes, boil and prepare mashed potatoes in your usual way. I prepared it in advance.
  2. Finely chop the pork into pieces. Peel the onion and cut into half rings, then fry in a heated frying pan until tender.
  3. I usually do this: fry the meat over high heat, stirring for about 5 minutes, then add the onion, stir, reduce the gas and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes.
  4. Then open the lid and simmer for 5 minutes over medium heat until the juice has evaporated slightly. The meat is ready. This time I had goulash prepared according to this recipe in the refrigerator.
  5. We cut the cucumbers into rings or half rings, if large. It is advisable to use salted or barrel ones. If you wish, you can add more cucumbers than indicated in the recipe, this will only make the dish tastier. Grate the hard cheese onto a fine grater.
  6. Thaw the finished puff pastry and divide it into 4 parts. My dough initially consisted of 4 pieces. Depending on the size of the boat you want to make, you can divide each part in half again. I prepared 4 palm-sized boats.
  7. Next, roll out each piece of dough into a rectangle, tripling its original size. The edges of the rolled out rectangle should be slightly thinner than the middle. We make equal longitudinal cuts on the sides.
  8. Place two tablespoons of prepared puree in the center of each boat, on top of it - a layer of meat and slices of cucumbers.
  9. Then we wrap each side in turn so that the cut is in the center. Like this.
  10. We give our product a boat shape and carefully pinch the sides. If in some places it turns out that there is too much dough, then simply carefully remove the excess.
  11. Prepare the egg mixture and brush the boats with it. Then place them on a baking sheet so that the boats do not touch each other. To do this, I placed them one by one on the sides with foil.
  12. Sprinkle the cut of the boats with grated cheese and place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for approximately 25 minutes or until the boats are browned on all sides.

After going through a lot of information on the World Wide Web, I came across an amazing recipe for puff pastry boats. It was decided that the next dish for dinner would be exactly like this! By the way, I managed to surprise my husband. Pamper your loved ones with this unique dish!

Puff boats - open pies

In these delicious puff pastries with mushrooms, I like the original way of rolling - giving the pastry a boat shape. To make boat pies, you can use any puff pastry; I made it from store-bought ones. For dough boats, various juicy or fatty fillings are suitable that will not dry out during baking.

Ingredients:

  • Ready puff pastry (yeast or yeast-free) – 500 g;
  • Mushrooms (champignons, oyster mushrooms) – 300 g;
  • Onions – 1-2 heads;
  • Parsley or other greens - a bunch;
  • Vegetable oil for frying;
  • Spices optional: basil, pepper;
  • Salt;
  • Sour cream – 2 tablespoons;
  • Starch or flour – 1 tablespoon + 1/4 cup cool water;
  • Hard cheese – 50-80 g.
  • Egg for brushing the tops of puff pastries

Cooking method:

  1. Cut the mushrooms into small pieces. Onion - thin half rings. Fry the onion in hot oil for 2 minutes, then add the mushrooms. Fry for 7-10 minutes until done. Sprinkle mushrooms with spices and salt to taste. Add herbs, sour cream and starch diluted in water. Read more:
  2. Mix well. Wait for the starch to brew (the mushroom mixture thickens), this will take 1-2 minutes. Turn off the heat and cool. Let's prepare the mushroom filling! Separately, grate the cheese on a coarse grater. This is what the mushroom filling in the finished puff pastries will look like! How to make dough boats Defrost the dough according to the instructions on the package (usually this takes about 20 minutes).
  3. Cut the dough sheets into squares. (I had 2 layers in the package, each cut into 9 squares). Roll out each square to a size of 15x15 (match the size of the large cup or bowl you will be cutting with).
  4. Use a large cup to cut out a circle. Then take a smaller cup and cut out a circle inside the larger one, but be sure to leave untouched (uncut) sections of 1 cm each at the bottom and top (the junction of the inner circle with the rim, otherwise the rim will fall off). First, we cut out a large circle, then, inside it, a small one, leaving small joints, from which small curls are then formed. We put the left side of the rim to the right, and we thread the right side under the left. Or vice versa, if you are right-handed))) Then perform this trick: take the headbands on the right and left and thread them into each other.
  5. With this infinity sign, the rims threaded into each other are intertwined. The crossed rims of the dough form the sides on the inner circle of the dough. This is how you get a dough boat. Lay out the intertwined rims on the edges of the inner circle. Assembling pies - boats. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. If there is none, grease the baking sheet with oil or dust it with flour.
  6. Place empty blanks - boats on a baking sheet. You can transfer already filled pies to a baking sheet if you are confident in manual dexterity. Place a mound of filling. Place 2 teaspoons of filling between the sides of each pie. Add some cheese on top. Boats on a baking sheet Grease the dough with a cloth or brush dipped in a mixture of beaten egg and 1 tablespoon of cool water. Bake the boats with filling at a temperature of 220 degrees C until the dough is browned.

Puff pastry boats are one of those snacks that can be served in an endless number of variations. This dish will fit perfectly into the everyday menu and will easily decorate the holiday table. You can make boats from frozen semi-finished products, then they will be prepared easily and quickly!

Cooking with chicken

Puff pastry boats with filling can be used as a quick snack or serve as a main course. The most satisfying will be boats filled with meat, for example, chicken. For the filling, you can chop your own chicken fillet or meat trimmed from chicken thighs. Chopped minced meat turns out more juicy than that obtained after twisting the meat in a meat grinder.

For the recipe you will need:

  • chicken meat (boneless) - 350 g;
  • onion - 1 pc.;
  • vegetable oil - 3 tbsp. l.;
  • egg (for greasing the dough) - 1 pc.;
  • salt, spices.

Execution technology:

  1. The prepared dough is cut into squares measuring 12x12 cm.
  2. Onion - in cubes or half rings, meat - in small cubes.
  3. The prepared products are fried in a frying pan with oil.
  4. Salt, chopped herbs or dry spices are added to the filling.
  5. The cooled filling is placed on the dough squares. The edges are pinched in the form of boats.
  6. The dough is brushed with egg.
  7. The boats are baked in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

Note! When preparing the filling, it is very important not to overcook the onions. It should take on a slightly golden tone. Overcooked onions, brought to a brown color, will give the minced meat an unpleasant aftertaste.

How to bake with sausage

The filling for boats with sausage is the easiest to prepare. But it should be noted that for such a dish you should not use dry varieties; boiled sausage or ham will do. To make the filling more juicy, you can add a little grated cheese to it.

For the recipe you will need:

  • puff pastry - 500 g;
  • sausage - 350 g;
  • cheese - 200 g;
  • egg for greasing - 1 pc.;
  • fresh vegetables - optional;
  • salt, spices, herbs.

Execution technology:

  1. The dough is thawed and cut into squares.
  2. Sausage or ham is cut into cubes no larger than 1x1 cm.
  3. The filling is placed on the prepared dough. Sprinkle cheese on top.
  4. The edges of the dough are pinched to form boats.
  5. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  6. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees until done.

For the recipe you will need:

  • puff pastry - 500 g;
  • minced meat - 400 g;
  • onion - 1 pc.;
  • egg - 1 pc.;
  • salt, spices.

Execution technology:

  1. The dough is defrosted and cut into squares.
  2. Cut the onion into cubes and fry in a frying pan.
  3. Semi-finished meat product is added to the onion. After 15 minutes – salt and spices.
  4. The cooled filling is placed on the dough. The edges are pinched.
  5. The boats are greased with egg and put in the oven for 20-25 minutes.

Important! Frying the minced meat before baking is necessary in order to give the meat a more pronounced taste and to avoid the release of juice, which will certainly happen when trying to bake raw minced meat in the oven.

An interesting option with cottage cheese and herbs

Boats stuffed with cottage cheese and herbs turn out delicious and filling. For the filling, use cottage cheese, unsweetened curd mass or a mixture of these products with any soft cheeses (Suluguni, feta, Adyghe).

For the recipe you will need:

  • yeast-free puff pastry - 500 g;
  • cottage cheese - 380 g;
  • fresh herbs - 1 large bunch;
  • egg - 2 pcs.

Execution technology:

  1. The dough is defrosted and formed into squares.
  2. Cottage cheese is mixed with finely chopped herbs. Tarragon, dill, parsley or a mixture of these herbs are perfect for cottage cheese.
  3. Add one egg and salt to the filling and mix until smooth.
  4. The cottage cheese is placed on the dough and formed into boats.
  5. Brush the top with beaten egg.

Puff pastry recipes are easy even for those housewives who do not have much experience working with the oven. This dough is pliable to work with and compatible with almost any filling. And the result looks so appetizing that it will decorate both an everyday table and a dinner party.

If you want to please your family with something tasty and original, you can make delicious dough boats filled with meat, potatoes and pickles. This is a great dish for breakfast or dinner.

To prepare the boats, use ready-made puff pastry without yeast. This dough can be purchased in advance and stored in the freezer. For example, that’s what I do.

So, to prepare this original dish we will need the following products:
0.5 kg puff pastry without yeast,
0.3 kg pork pulp,
one large onion,
four medium potatoes
120 g fresh butter,
one large pickled cucumber
60 g hard cheese,
one egg,
ground pepper and salt to taste.

The products are ready. And now the cooking process itself.

1. Take the puff pastry out of the freezer about twenty minutes before cooking and defrost. We cut each layer of dough into six rectangles of the same size. Sprinkle with flour and roll out lightly in one direction. We make neat cuts on opposite sides.

2. Boil the peeled potatoes until tender and make a puree, adding salt to taste and 40 g of butter. Mix everything thoroughly until smooth. After cutting the pork into small cubes, fry it in the remaining butter, which we melt in a frying pan. Fry on both sides over medium heat. Salt and pepper to taste. Cut the onion into half rings and add to the meat. Cover with a lid and simmer for ten minutes. Then, increasing the heat, simmer until the liquid has completely evaporated. Place on a plate and cool.

Place one tablespoon of mashed potatoes onto the prepared rectangles and spread evenly over the surface of the dough. Place chilled meat with onions on top, and a cucumber cut into small cubes on top.

3. Now carefully wrap the dough on both sides one by one so that the cuts are located in the middle of the pie, one above the other.

4. Pinch the edges tightly, giving the pie a boat shape.

5. Take a baking sheet and line it with baking paper. Carefully place the prepared boat on it. Grate the hard cheese and sprinkle on the boats. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and brush the dough with a brush.
6. Preheat the oven to two hundred degrees. Place the pan in the oven for twenty-five minutes. The boats should acquire a golden hue, and the cheese should melt and brown. Take the finished puff pastry boats out of the oven, cool slightly, place on a dish and, garnished with sprigs of fresh herbs, serve. Bon appetit everyone!
