Very tasty, tender, juicy jellied pie with saury and potatoes - you just want to take a piece. Jellied pie with saury and potatoes with mayonnaise in the oven Jellied pie with saury without mayonnaise

The recipe for a jellied saury pie is written in my old, cherished culinary notebook, which I have been keeping since my student days. At that time, I collected only dishes in my piggy bank fast food, which do not require much time and consist of the simplest ingredients. They are also called quick recipes.

In the common student kitchen, only one of the three electric stoves worked. At any time of the day, hungry students crowded around her, waiting for the burner to be free to prepare food.

But the oven was often free. Therefore, we quickly came up with what to “bundle up” in the oven? Cooked casseroles with cereals, fried potatoes on a baking sheet.

More often they managed with jellied pies, and not sweet ones, using chicken, fish, cabbage, and minced meat as fillings. If only it were more satisfying. A worthy place among the fillings filled with liquid dough was occupied by canned saury in oil.

The main ingredient of this dish is fish preserved in oil. Of course, you can choose any other canned fish. For example, not in oil, but in natural juice. Or buy a completely different type of canned food. Delicious pie is obtained with fresh fish. Only for this, you need to cut it and separate all the bones to get tender fillet. But it's been so long...

And saury is a ready-to-use product. I love this canned food and because it is low-calorie.

There are only 88 calories per 100 g of the product. It also differs in that in the presence of protein (about 18 g / 100 g), it contains no carbohydrates at all. And only about 2 grams of fat.

And at the same time, the fish saturates the body:

  • A useful set of vitamins (A, B, D, E) for all organs and systems, carrying nutrition and energy;
  • Antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids necessary for brain function;
  • Minerals that nourish and support the cardiovascular system;

A simple recipe for a delicious jellied pie

This fish pairs well with onions. And not only with onion, but also green. And the presence of vegetables in the same dish with her only emphasizes her taste qualities.

This time, to enhance satiety and saturate the taste nuances of the dish, we will add onions and potatoes. It is put raw, because the dish has to languish in the oven and the vegetable has time to cook.

Among the ingredients for the filling you will need:

  • 1 jar of saury (canned);
  • 4 potato tubers;
  • 1 head of onion;

For liquid dough:

  • 3 eggs;
  • 6-8 tablespoons of flour;
  • 250 ml of mayonnaise;
  • 250 ml sour cream;
  • a pinch of salt;
  • a pinch of soda;

Cooking a pie in the oven

We open a jar of fish. Drain the liquid in any case, even if there is very little of it.

Break up the pieces with a fork. This can be done right in the jar, but it is still better to transfer them to a separate container. If desired, you can add your favorite spices to the fish.

We clean the onion from the upper scales and chop with a knife into small cubes.

Peel raw potato tubers and grate with a large mesh grater. Many housewives cut it into thin slices or straws. You can do it the way you like.

Now let's get to the dough. Beat the eggs with a whisk, mixing with soda and salt.

Add mayonnaise and sour cream and mix well.

Pour flour into the liquid base and knead the dough mass.

Don't forget to sift the flour through a sieve. You will not only be sure that foreign inclusions will not get into the pastry, but the product itself will surprise you with a lush texture.

The dough should be liquid, without lumps. To easily pour out of the pan (like liquid sour cream).

Half of the dough (less possible), pour an even, thin layer on the bottom of the frying pan. Sprinkle potato shavings evenly over the entire surface.

Distribute the onion on top.

Lay out the mashed fish with the last layer.

We cover the contents of the frying pan with an even layer of batter.

If small gaps remain during pouring, do not worry. You can not work and do not level the dough with a spoon. Usually, with such manipulations, all layers of the pie are violated. When baking, the mass will rise and the surface of the product will become even.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake the dish for about 30-35 minutes. Baking times may vary slightly depending on the oven itself. Therefore, we check the readiness of the product by piercing it with a toothpick or a fork.

jellied pie with saury and potatoes it turns out lush and delicate in taste. Baking hearty, able to replace a full dinner. We invite our relatives to drink tea.

When preparing a jellied pie, there is no need to cook the dough for a long time, roll it out and pinch it, pierce the lid of the product before and during baking. Liquid Foundation is poured onto a baking sheet, the filling is laid out on top, which is then covered with the rest of the dough. A simple cooking method is liked by novice housewives.

The secrets of making a delicious jellied pie with saury

For jellied fish pie taste qualities of saury are important. Choose canned food from trusted manufacturers. For a less high-calorie option, saury in its own juice is suitable; fish canned in oil will add fat to the filling. If you add unpreserved fish fillets to the pie, be sure to use herbs (for example, dill) and suitable spices(rosemary, thyme, coriander, basil).

A simple and satisfying treat is a canned saury pie with kefir dough. Cook quickly, but it turns out very tasty!

I cooked on kefir, made from sourdough, a very tasty jellied pie stuffed with saury and fried onions - it turned out delicious! The pie is prepared in literally 5 minutes - it takes so much to prepare the products, and I baked it in a slow cooker in the “Baking” mode for another 45 minutes. As a result, the whole family enjoyed a delicious pie, cooked in less than an hour. I advise everyone, by the way, you can make another filling - the main thing here is the dough on good kefir, better - home, as in my case. It turns out more magnificent - checked!

  • kefir, 250 ml
  • flour, 2 stacks
  • bulb, 2 pieces
  • egg, 2 pieces
  • vegetable oil, 3 tbsp. l.
  • baking powder, 1 tsp
  • saury, 1 ban.

A few words about making homemade kefir with sourdough from Orsik: everything is simple - I sterilized the jar with boiling water, poured milk room temperature, poured the starter, mixed thoroughly, put it in a thermos yogurt maker, kept it warm for 10 hours by the battery, wrapping the entire structure in a warm blanket.

This is yeast in milk.

Basic products for the pie. Kefir, it is worth noting, turned out beautiful - very gentle, non-acidic. Two glasses of sifted flour are already in a blue plate, To the right in the corner is saury mashed with a fork, and below from kefir is an onion fried in vegetable oil, raw eggs, I often add eggs to the filling, boil them hard, but this time I didn’t.

Mix kefir with eggs, add a pinch of salt and vegetable oil, beat everything at a low mixer speed.

This is how the whipped mixture should look.

Mixed.

I poured two-thirds of the dough into the multicooker bowl (greased it a little with oil), put the fish mixed with onions on top.

Top with the remaining batter. I set it to bake in the “Baking” mode for 45 minutes (160 degrees).

This is how the cake turned out: juicy, tasty, tender. If you like a fried crust on both sides, then you need to turn the cake over and bake it in a slow cooker for another 10 minutes on the same mode to brown the second side. Delicious and very easy cake!

Good afternoon dear friends! Do you love fish? I think most gourmets will answer this question in the affirmative. One of the advantages of this product is that it is ideal for any pastry, giving juiciness and taste. And today I want to tell you about a dish called jellied fish pie. It is baked quickly, does not require much time and culinary skills. And products for it can be found in any store. My beloved mother taught me how to cook such a dish, now I bake for my men and they really like it 🙂

Most often, canned food like saury or pink salmon in its own juice is used as a filling, but other options can be used. It turns out very tasty with the addition of fresh fish or minced meat from it.

If you have boiled fish left (for example, from fish soup), feel free to use it in baking! You can add any ingredients - boiled eggs, green onions, cook with cabbage and other vegetables. And on a holiday, I recommend making a filling of red fish, potatoes or rice - it turns out incredibly appetizing. And the dough can be kneaded with milk, sour cream or mayonnaise - in any case, it turns out to be tender and tasty.

When my son grew up a little, such a dish became a real salvation for me. Children, as you know, do not always like healthy food, so I had to indulge in a trick. For the dish, I use fresh, well-boned pink salmon, and combine it with broccoli and boiled potatoes. The son agrees to eat unloved foods only in this form, since they are absolutely not felt in the dish.
